Our History and Mission

For over 125 years, the Lord has used Salem Baptist Church to proclaim the good news of Jesus to Dobson and Surry County. In 2014, we as a church took a step of obedience to God's calling and were able to launch Salem Christian Academy. Since beginning with a preschool class of only a handful of children, SCA has grown and multiplied its ministry opportunities by providing biblically-based education with plans to further expand ministry and education options each year.

Salem Christian Academy is a community Christian school assisting families by providing academic excellence while instilling biblical principles in its students’ lives so they might reach and impact the next generation with a life “all in” for Jesus. SCA endeavors to fulfill its mission and realize its vision through the following academy core values: truth, excellence, evangelism, spiritual formation, Christian leadership, and Biblical worldview orientation. Our goal is that we would provide a rigorous education for our students and to prepare them to be world-changers for Jesus Christ.
